About the agMac-
Along with this Read Me file, you should have received images, featuring the agMac in testing, in the Middle of Nowhere (the mid-Atlantic).

We were originally going to release an LCD iMac at this time, but we've recently been experimenting with hologram/projection technology. Besides, the designs for that were leaked. What fun is it to release a product that everyone already knows about?

The agMac doesn't have an LCD monitor, it uses a projector to show images. The projector also includes a built-in touch screen and handwriting recognition, so we've done away with the mouse and keyboard, in favour of a stylus. How they managed to do that is beyond me the details of the project are so secret that only engineers directly associated with it can access them.

Yeah, it's a little difficult to write while standing up. The projector is detachable, and (through the magic of AirPort 3.0) can be moved anywhere within 5 kilometres of the base. Since it's only a centimetre thick, we think that this will make an excellent inexpensive laptop for people who don't need to travel far.

A lot of you were wondering why Steve was so excited about Ginger, when it turned out to be a scooter. He was so excited about it that we bought the rights to it, and it is now incorporated into the agMac. It's actually a flying surfboard, controlled by either the agMac or a remote control.

Along with silver, The agMac comes in a number of different textures: Bathroom, Cloud, Diamond, and Wood. In all cases, however, the projector is made of silver.

The price will be amazingly low: 799 dollars Canadian (something like $2 US, I believe)! How can we afford this? A replacement stylus costs $20, with 5-packs going for a bargain of $100!

This document wasn't really written by Jonathan Ive, or any other current employee of Apple. It was written by a 14-year-old, Andrew Dunning, who will hopefully be employed by them in the future. The pictures, too, were created by him. Sorry.

How do I enter?
Imagine, if you will, what the next iMac® may look like. Then draw it, sketch it, Photoshop it, GIMP it, or perhaps even carve it out of ice and take a picture of it. Send your image to me via email.

On the Eve of MacWorld Expo, Nitrozac and Snaggy will judge a "winner". The winner will get some relatively inexpensive, but highly valued prizes, including one of our amazing t-shirts and courtesy of Inferno Film Productions, a VHS copy of Dragon and the Hawk, and a Dragon and the Hawk t-shirt! Whoa!

But wait!... we are upping the ante! The winner will also receive the ultimate honor... a guest appearance in an upcoming Joy of Tech comic! That's right, Nitrozac create a custom portrait of the winner, and this cartoon version of he or she will join the ranks of famous geeks who have made appearances in our comics! Now that is an insanely great prize!

So come on now, show everyone you're just as qualified as Jonathan Ive, and send us your insanely great design! You can also post it to the Joy of Tech forum too, if you are so inclined.

OK then are you inspired now? ... send yours in!
